One of the things you get to do when you live in Europe but can’t work is you get to hijack….er….join other people’s vacations simply because you’re on the same continent.
Pisa and Florence
This one goes back a little ways. When Amy’s Dad and Uncle visited us in Italy we took our first weekend and went to Florence and Pisa, one day for each. As a matter of fact an Italian told us to spend more time in Florence because, “for Pisa, 2 hours…”
Editor’s Note (or: News From The Dog House)
So after promoting my Rome post on Facebook Amy noticed a little something I got wrong. We didn’t celebrate her birthday in Rome, we celebrated it in Florence when her Dad was visiting. Uhhhh….. Oh yeah, I knew that. Writing these out of order and all from memory (I have no notes) I got two trips to Hard Rock Cafe mixed up. We visited there in both cities, but Amy’s birthday was not while we were in Rome. As her husband I know exactly when her birthday is, as well as our anniversary, I promise. No really, stop laughing. I’ve edited the Rome post to reflect that rather important revelation and also padded the doghouse with a little bit of straw. It’s really not so bad once the itching stops. Anyway, next post hopefully tomorrow, I’m having some technical issues with uploading pictures (I’m on a road trip and next time I’m bringing a laptop with me and not just the iPad). Stay tuned!
Finally…Rome
It’s almost embarrassing how long it took us to take a trip to Rome, we’ve only been here for nearly a year. Better late than never I guess…
The Almalfi Coast
So where we left off earlier was just before a trip to the Almalfi coast with Amy’s Dad and Uncle. The Almalfi coast is just a little bit South of Naples and is well known for it’s beauty and the absolutely insane coastal road that is perched on the edge of the cliffs. So obviously, we have to go.
I think I’ve been here before…
So it’s been a couple of months since I’ve posted anything. Yeah, yeah, I know. I’ve written this post before. Apparently it’s a good thing I don’t do this for a living… Anyway, since it’s been a while I’ve actually got quite a bit of stuff to post and I’m going to get to work on it. Stuff might be out of order though so if one minute I’m on the Almalfi coast and the next I’m in Germany don’t worry, just go with it. Stay tuned folks, just gotta get some pictures uploaded…
Beating the Odds
So we’ve had our first guests come and go and during the time they were here I think we broke a record. We smashed it so thoroughly that I’m pretty sure it was statistically impossible the number of times it happened. Read More »
Matera (or: “Vedere sasso citta!”)
Who knew that I lived just an hour or so away from Italy’s sister attraction to one in my own home State of Tennessee?
That’s Two, Two Pizzas in One!!!
So now that the shame of this little episode has subsided I can tell the story without that “wow, that was really moronic” feeling, cause honestly it’s kinda funny. You know, if it’s not you.
