So we’ve had our first guests come and go and during the time they were here I think we broke a record. We smashed it so thoroughly that I’m pretty sure it was statistically impossible the number of times it happened.
So what did we do? No, We didn’t keep finding 50 Euro bills on the sidewalk or catch the pumps dispensing diesel fuel at 19 euro cents a liter instead of 1.90. Instead, we managed to pick a closed restaurant just about every time we went out to dinner for a month straight. And I’m not talking some, “ha ha, isn’t that funny it’s happened twice?”, no I’m saying we picked a closed restaurant to eat at somewhere around 10 times in a row.
There actually is a law that they have to be closed once a week but sometimes they just close for some random reason that we don’t even know about. We found one that’s closed every other Tuesday as well as their regular off day…they just don’t bother to tell you which one it is this week. You have to show up and find that one out in person. Another two were closed for renovations and we had just been there a day or so before and there was no, “hey, we’re going to be closed next week,” kind of thing anywhere. The other’s? We somehow managed to pick that mandated day off. It’s like restaurant roulette. I guess the lesson here is this, if you ever get on some gameshow where you get to phone a friend and it’s multiple choice (unless it’s a Star Wars\I.T. question) don’t call me. You’ll lose, and then I’ll feel all guilty. We could go out to eat afterwards though, I know this great place…
Hey, could you find ones that will be OPEN when we get there? Food is always a great cherished necessity. See you guys soon. Sissie
We’re trying to keep a calendar. We can find you food for sure.
